Packing for your trip
Required Items: (clothing must be rated for -40+)
- Headlamp (for aurora package only)
- Beanie/Toque
- Neck warmer x2
- Jacket/Parka
- Snow pants/bibs
- Base gloves x2
- Gloves/Mitts
- Winter boots
- Warm socks
Recommended Items:
- Sun screen
- Sun glasses / ski goggles
- Hand warmers
- Spare base layers (long sleeve shirt, warm socks)
- Full thermos
- High calorie snacks
- Camera/Phone
Things to Note
Before the trip (24 hours before departure time):
- Feral racing / Atlin Inn reserves the right to cancel or postpone your trip if the weather forecast is not safe for wilderness travel for guests/guides and dogs.
- Please note that participation in the tour is contingent on you having proper gear as outlined above. Failure to dress appropriately will result in an altered experience for safety reasons.
The morning of the tour:
- Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you attend the safety briefing. During the safety presentation you will be advised on how to conduct yourself and behave during the trip and around the dogs.
During the tour :
- Please communicate with your guide if you are getting too cold or if you are losing sensation in your feet/hands.
- If attempts to warm up are not successful the tour will be shortened.
- Please follow safety instructions carefully

Safety Items
Around the dogs please:
- Do not approach the dogs or touch them without authorisation from a guide
- Refrain from feeding the dogs
- Avoid throwing anything at them
- Do not run or scream around the dogs
- Always be calm around dogs
In the sled please:
- Keep your arms and legs inside the sled at all times
- Stay seated and lean into the corners
- Never exit the sled without your guides knowledge
